This is my first song I've ever recorded! It is about The Finale Battle in Deathly Hallows, originally recorded for a compilation album to help out another wrocker :) Played flute and guitar to accompany my vocals on this one!
lyrics
The ones we've lost, they never leave
But on that night it was hard to believe
When friends, foes, and family fall
And Death throws His cloak around us all
And it's so strange, he won't howl to the moon
And her hair won't change, time turned way too soon
We'll read the stories of their souls
Oh, they both have a series that needs to be told
But without the dark, there is no light
Without death, there is no life
There can't be peace until the fight
Until there was the sacrifice
So to those who fell asleep
In an eternity so deep
I say goodnight, goodnight
I say goodnight
And one we lost was Colin Creevey
He was much too young to leave and he
Died along with Fred Weasley
And it's hard to believe he's really gone
But they came and lived lives well-spent
And we all sang to their phoenix lament
And saw the world through Colin's camera lens
And learned from Fred Weasley that laughter mends
But without the dark, there is no light
Without death, there is no life
There can't be peace until the fight
Until there was the sacrifice
So to those who closed their eyes
In my dreams they will hide
So I say goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, green light
They lost Lestrange, Vincent and the snake
Who we musn't name, but he had lived and died and hate
But then there's Snape, who proved he was so brave
And many he would save, and he showed us that love can't fade
And we all know the Prince's Tale
Cause he showed us that love will always prevail
But without the dark there is no light
Without death, there is no life
It's not all in black and white
And there was loss and pain that night
So to those who seem unseen
I'll see you in my dreams
So goodnight, I say goodnight
I say good night
They jump over the moon
From the castle to the stars
They all left too soon
But they live in our hearts
And they may have closed their eyes
But I will not say goodbye
I'll say goodnight, goodnight
I say goodnight
